Episode 25: My Favorite Podcasts
Gemma AdevaI'm back on the podcast after spending almost half of February sick... including my birthday 🙁
Discovering the endless world of podcasts was what inspired me to record my own, so they're a pretty big part of my life. Of course, in addition to recording this podcast, I'm a huge fan of some shows! I love listening to podcasts when I'm at home working or doing anything, when I'm out and about, etc. Without a doubt, one of the best things I've discovered in recent years. In this episode, I'm going to share with you my favorite shows.
NOTES FOR THIS EPISODE
Sections: On my needles, Craft Library (review of Worsted by Aimée Gille), Knitflix.
– My Sophie Shawl from Petite Knit is already finished and blocked, now I just need to take pictures and prepare a post, lol. It's the project we knitted in the first KAL of this year. Finally, I decided to knit it using Dolly DK (I'm in love with this base), so I reduced the number of needles and it's huge and warm. Let's see if it's true that the cold weather is coming back and I can wear it for the first time.
– You won't believe this, but yes: I've found a skein of Mondim x La Bien Aimée in the color I needed to finish my Cavalgante Sweater , which is what I'm knitting now. So far, there's no discernible difference between the two skeins, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
– The most important thing I've done this February has been launching my Patreon ! You can now join at any of the available levels. I'm sharing some really cool stuff there, and our first knitting meetup was a blast. 😀 I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that The Knit Cafe is now exclusive to patrons, at any level.
– The book reviewed in Biblioteca Craft is Worsted by Aimée Gille of La Bien Aimée. It’s a book worth owning just for the photos, the binding, etc. The patterns are by different designers: Nadia Crétin-Léchenne, Stephen West, Sylvia Watts-Cherry, Andrea Mowry, Tif Neilan, Saysha Greene, Norah Gaughan, Maxim Cyr, Nancy Marchant, and Thien-Kieu Lam. My favorite designs are all the sweaters and jackets featured in the book, and it has the unique feature that all the projects are knitted with worsted weight yarn . The new book (available for pre-order) in this collection is Neons and Neutrals .
– With Netflix's latest move, we've decided to switch to HBO Max, but for the time being, the section will still be called Knitflix.
I'm trying to watch everything I have left on the platform before our subscription runs out, namely the new season of You, haha. We've also watched Kaleidoscope and The Snow Girl.
We're still new to HBO, and we're currently watching The Last of Us and have just finished the documentary The Windsor Curse.
And outside of these two platforms we've seen the movie Nope, which I highly recommend if you like the horror and science fiction genres.
– Here are the links to my favorite podcasts: A Beautiful Mess , Elise Gets Crafty , Best Laid Plans , Creator Club , Little Cabin Knits , Make Good , Emprendarte , There Are No Black People in Tibet , Edo and Fran .
Please, please, please recommend me podcasts and things to watch on HBO!
