Episode 20: How to Manage Long Craft Projects

Gemma Adeva

I'm back after my summer "vacation" 😊 And as always, I'm really looking forward to getting back to the podcast, so we're back to our biweekly Friday date.

In this week's episode, I want to talk to you in depth about long-form craft projects and how to embark on one without dying in the attempt (or without being forever disappointed). These types of projects require initial planning, which we tend to skip, mostly due to excitement, haha. But without that good planning, we're very likely to end up abandoning the project after a few months, and I don't want that to happen to you again!

NOTES FOR THIS EPISODE

Sections: On my needles, Knitflix.

– FINALLY I can get back to Tin Roof Yamaga, now that my Retrosaria Coast yarns have arrived (and if the club socks leave me a little free time). The time is coming to wear it for the first time!

– I've also started the Montpellier Top from November Knits. It's a super-fast project, and I totally recommend it. The cotton I'm using to knit the first version is Epic by Yarn and Colors in the shade Olive. I also bought the shade Curry to make a second top (again, being optimistic, lol).

Here you can read all about one of the long-term projects I'm working on this year, my temperature galaxy.

– I'm also participating in The Frosted Pumpking Stitchery's SAL, the Under The Sea Club.

– And finally, the second scrap blanket I work on in between projects is the Jelly Roll Blanket by Bakery Bears. Incidentally, the first blanket I ever knitted, the Bits and Bobs (which started my love for long projects) is also by the same designer.
